Abstract

Psychological Safety (PS) in clinical telesimulation is essential for fostering meaningful learning by allowing students to express doubts, make mistakes, and learn from them without fear of ridicule or humiliation. Objective: To identify facilitator behaviors associated with establishing and maintaining PS during clinical telesimulations conducted at the Department of Medical Sciences Integration (DICiM), Faculty of Medicine, UNAM. Method: An instrument was developed and validated to assess facilitator skills across three dimensions: verbal communication, non-verbal communication, and the simulation environment. Results: Fifty-six telesimulation videos involving UNAM medical students were analyzed. The results identified verbal communication as the primary strength, particularly the use of language adapted to the participant's level. Areas for improvement were identified regarding the implementation of confidentiality agreements and digital competencies. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that PS can be assessed and strengthened through specific interventions.
