Abstract

Health science professionals require technical or procedural skills, as well as non-technical or behavioral skills and attitudes that enable optimal performance in patient care during a critical medical situation. This requires the adoption of a training program in organizations or educational institutions, as well as in the health sector, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, to promote a culture of safety and essential actions for patient safety. Evidence shows that clinical simulation promotes the creation of safe and controlled environments, where healthcare professionals can address critical medical situations by replicating them, reflecting on their actions, and preventing future adverse events.
